Early Flamed Hot Rods

For quite some time now, flames on a hot rod have been considered passé by most. I think this is largely due to the popularity of licks on the street rods of the 1980’s and 90’s. When the backlash occurred and the traditional movement began to get traction, folks seemed to identify a clean flame job with the smooth contemporary cars they were actively moving against. And, as such, you don’t see a whole lot of traditional cars being built these days with flames… although the tide seems to be changing a bit.

In any case, we have plenty of threads already on the H.A.M.B. dedicated to early flame jobs. However, I thought it would be interesting to kind of “light a fire” under the subject again. Lets use this thread to add more.
