I'd love to hear the back story on this car and it's owner and it's builder.....Probably a person of power,position....... may be mistaken,but I was under the impression that in Russia average folks in that time,& era- had little access to anything more than a large amount of cheap Vodka
It had less than four doors... leaves no chance to get in production, haha. definitely one of my favorites from the old Russian stuff
At least some Russian models were made on tooling bought from US car companys as models went out of production. Ford built a plant there to make Fords, the Americans who went there to help run the plant were eventually killed by Stalin.

I was talking to a russian while waiting for the ferry in Burlington,VT and he said he used to have a russian car, in russia, that looked like my '41 ford. he said it had a V-8 flathead engine just like a Ford. Thought he called a ZAT or ZAP.

I thought these plants were "donated" under one of the post war Marshall plans, meaning the USG / our taxpaying grand parents paid Ford to do it. Not so? I think it is also one of the reasons we have Ford designed flatheads in French cars etc..
