we were worried about something twisting so we build this structure inside the car to hold the top in place as the cuts were made. You can see the B pillars have already been cut.
Here is the finished project........2 3/4 inches from the front to nothing in the back......the top layed down in place

When I chopped my 57 Buick , I didn't have 5 helpers
so made a wood a-frame to hold it up.As the chop was to be 2-1/2"a block that size was add to the a-frame. After the a and c pillars were cut and reworked the blocks were removed and top lowered . TwoChops left click to enlarge
