Wow! very nice work. I'm digging all those brackets, especially the ones wrapped around the rear end. I love how strength equals beauty.

The head will be a one off flathead built by the engine builder, or a reworked Brumfield head if I can find one.

Awesome job Steve, you have been busy!! I wish I would have had more time to talk with you out at the salt this year, it was just a crazy mad rookie dash for us...the tank is looking KILLER! I know you were possibly talking about doing flathead to start out with, then stepping it up to overhead, which one are ya gonna do? Bonneville '11???

  15. Steve, The tank looks great. Me and a few people in Grand Rapids have been talking about building either a bellytank or a roadster for bonneville for awhile. Would it be possible to look at yours sometime? Steve

Where did you have the tubing bent? And how did you come up with the dimensions for the arc on the long horizontal tubes? And what I mean by that is, how did you tell them "THIS is what I need"?

  21. But, that upper cage looks to me like it could be peeled off like a ZIT in a roll.............?

The tubes were bent with a roller bender and were done off a plywood pattern. The picture shows the plywood pattern, the picture is not very clear the pattern is two halfs.

Thanks for your thoughts................. There is still a lot of work to be done on the cage, I don't think the cage will will peel off the front and rear hoops are continuous to the main rails of the chassis. There will also be gussets and and diagonal tubing placed in the key stress points

Thanks for your thoughts.............I don't have a picture but I have been in and out of the cage with a Helmet on. and do have room for the required SFI approved padding on the roll cage, I just have not installed it at this point. It is a tight fit but I do believe ingress and egress will be satisfactory. If you notice the complete car is held together with hose clamps and if I need to I might move the drivers compartment back a few inches for clearance. As seen in the photos the build stage is a bit of a mach-up there are still decisions to be made before anything is welded.
