speedway mustang II kit w/ air ride. I cut out an inch section on each end of the crossmember to sink higer up into the frame rails to attain more clearence, the hats also had to be lifted an inch in order to keep the geometry correct.

Maybe a stupid question but do those c-clamps have some type of copper coating on the screw portion?

    thanks fellas,
the clamps are copper coated to help prevent them from sticking to any metal i may be welding on.

I thought that would be the concept but never knew they produced such a thing. Pretty neat....

This is to increase beam height under the bag moung on the trailing arm.
    stiffens up the trailing arm.

that is just awesome! nice work.

  14. That is very cool, how much of the floor do you think you will have to cut out to fit the body? Will you be able to run a back seat?

Wondering this as well. Looks like the trailing arms should be low enough to only need cutting of the floor where the bag top hat crossmember is (and raising the driveshaft tunnel)?

You must own a C-10 truck, those trailing arms look familiar. LOL. Nice work man.

thanks fellas. as far as the floor goes, fatrhino youve got the right idea. I used the trailing arm system because i will still be able to run a back seat with out much work, as where a triangulated 4 link set up would have been very invasive to my back seat area going this low. the arms will clear with no floor modifications all the way down, however it will need a tunnel for the tranny/driveshaft.

Do you think a two piece driveshaft would eliminate the need for a taller driveshaft tunnel? I'm going to run truck arms on mine and I haven't mocked it up yet.

a two piece drive shaft would probably eliminate the need for a tunnel all the way through, however i am using a t-5 tranny that will need a tunnel, so i plan to tunnel it and use a one piece drive shaft.

  30. Have you been in my shop while I'am sleeping. The rear links I did on my Model A are almost a exact copy. I built them 2 years ago it works great. I will have to post some pics for you. Need to get back to work on the wife's 53 4 door thanks for the build posts.
