OK I finally got these down loaded

the coupe was running great at the deuce run 3 weeks before the race
so I never touched it before the drags but by the time we got it to the hotel Friday it would barley make an entrance
so I started tearing it apart as Tim and Kelly went for supply's ? OK beer
after swapping rooms too many times ? long story that I did not have time for I still like that cheap hotel .

so there I am on a hill trying to keep the coupe from rolling over me
cleaning fuel filters and wondering about fuel pumps and why it doesn't want to run
and the races are in the morning :(

Kathy & Tonya showed up and the parking lot party got off to a good start
as the rest of the hot rodders pilled in
    [IMG]
I wound up working on mine to much instead of taking pictures
gotta work on this camera next
    [IMG]
anyway we had a blast great to see every one
the parking lot party's are worth the trip alone ;)

OK lets quit screwing around after a trip by the parts store plugs, stp,
3 cans of chem tool one in the tank some octane booster and some gas
nothing can possibly go wrong now  ran OK to the track but not right ?
god I love this place ! and all the friends I have met over the years
    [IMG]
uncapped every thing put in new plugs and thickened up the oil some more
I can`t believe this motor runs at all any more after 20 years of abuse ?
    there starting up !
callender material for next year ;)

I did not have a chance this year against the blown flat head or the salt racer that are at least two seconds or faster but I tried with what I got.
we had it running good by then but we had fun I guess ?
at least I did not win flathead by making a by run ?
I did back up and get a by run the first round of flathead:p

Casey... Was a killer time all weekend and I dig the pics from the staging lanes. A much different view than ya normally see. Tell Kel thanks for keeping me laughing Friday night.she is a hoot sober, but on a gallon or so of wine she is just plain flat out entertaining :~) Get that coupe running sweeter than molassas by the Thaw cause it won't be the same without it.

Ron was warming up some hot dogs for the ride home :)

earlier we figured out my battery was not taking a charge so doc took me to the parts store again!!! cut off all the handles and beat in place it`s kinda a tight fit :p
and it seemed to run better and lit up the parking lot just fine

the parking lot party was too much fun sat night I only made it too 12:30 or so? it was still going strong

Sunday brackets this is the only time I can race the coupe.

Kelly wanted to make a pass down the track
she just learned to drive a standard this year and drove the coupe a little bit to the deuce run a couple weeks ago
took her to the return road and showed her how to rev it up to 4,000 and dump the clutch and go she made a practice launch and was ready to go
    [IMG]
she did pretty good for the first time down the track with a good reaction time and ran a 19.something and was very pumped up and made another one.

they had been yelling at me saying I was leaking oil on the track and when I saw the car on the line I could see it dripping that`s not oil It was gas
I had to pull Kelly out of the car after that run
she wanted to make another pas hahaha

me and Tim made a mad dash back to the parts store the roads in temple have been torn up for three or more years it took for ever to get back to the track
Kelly called and said they were getting ready to start eliminations I told her to stall
um if she could we were a few minutes away and had the part to fix it in my hand
jumped out of Tims 34 and fixed the fuel line threw the floor and seat back in and took off down the hill with seconds to spare
    [IMG]
    dialed in at a 15.60
and made it threw the first round OK
    [IMG]

second round OH shit ! this is going to be tough to beat he`s been doing this for 50 years Ive only been doing it for twenty

dam that was so close nether one new who won ? till I got to the ticket booth the guy kept looking back and forth at the tickets ?
white one white one white one I kept hopping then he handed me the yellow ahhhhhhhhhhh oh well it was a Honor to be beaten by the El`toro roadster by .05 thousands of a second that`s why I like bracket racing !

    what the hell is that
    [IMG]
started thining out fast after the race was over
later doc and robert thanks for your help
    [IMG]

I was felling somthing shakey in the back end wheel bearing ? another axel ? so sat back had a beer and called AAA it`s 98 miles from the track
to my shop will have to buy some axels before the thaw what a week end
can`t wait till the next one  thanks Tim, Ron, 32 esesex ? & doc for all the help :)

The Bible has kept many a sinner from sliding down hill.................... in this case it was just your car. Probably should have used the book of Mormon, though.

What a great weekend! Old friends, new friends and lots of drag racing. Who was doing donuts in the hotel parking lot Saturday night?

  19. Lets see now, I don't want to incriminate anybody:rolleyes:....but between the billowing smoke, I think I saw 2 carbs on top of one of those old fangled Flathead type engines, sitting inbetween deuce rails with some sort of modified 32 body with a dash of blue paint showing here and there, and this particular driver seemed experienced at this type of driving:cool:.....But I don't have a clue as to who it might have been:D....hahaha

personally, I just think that guy was trying to get rid of some pent up frustration. First he is hammering on a battery, taking his headlights off to "go faster" and then he is trying to burn his tires down to "save on weight"
Hard to get your meds right sometimes, I guess:D
