It must have been 15 years ago... I was in Wichita for the High Octane Art Show and Rob Fortier made the trip out to cover it for Custom Rodder Magazine. I had been reading Rob's stuff for years and was super excited to meet him. One thing lead to another and we became quick buddies... A few years later and before entering grad school, I decided to go to SoCal and look for a job. I stayed with Rob for a month or so and he really helped me find my way - both in life and career... He's a life pal. And I guess that's why I'm so proud of him. This week, he was handed over the reigns to Rod & Custom Magazine. My first reaction? One of my best pals is now the enemy?!?!? Joking, of course... It's gonna be fun to see what Rob can do with the title. He knows cool... Anyway, just wanted to make that little announcement. CONGRATS ROB!
RnC became so much better in the last coupl'a years with Kevin at the helm. I wish the best for Kevin. Rob, don't mess it up foo. Oh, and congrats....
Congrats to Rob that rules!! In the past few years that magazine has stepped up and have a greate team especially with Aaron Kahn on board too...
Kevin turned R&C around at least for me. Rob did a great job at CR. Best of luck to two talented guys. Terry
Rob picked my suede blue 54 chevy for a Custom Rodder Top10 pick at Columbus GGs... All the high-roller big dolla guys were pissed a "primer" car won and wouldn't speak to me or my wife the whole day in the awards area. That was in 2000 or 01. Maybe before it was acceptable to be non-big bucks in the award area. Always been a RF fan since....
Great news. Congrats. I'm a big fan of Rob as well. I expect big things from him and Kahan and the gang.
That IS pretty good news. It's great when somebody who has a passion for things can get into a spot and let that shine... I know he likes trucks and all, but this has to be a better gig. Congrats!
RF... I never liked that guy....... Congrats Rob... I'll be subscribing again... After about a 5 year lay-off.
Hopefully, the powers that be will give him a budget he can work with to promote a decent (thick) magazine! Best wishes,Fortier! Watch the HAMB and know the pulse of hot rodding!

seems to me that those guys get bounced whenever they are doing a good job...kinda like radio DJs ,sucks about Kevin but as good as he is someone will grab him
Wow... That sucks. He did a really good job in my opinion. Not to take away from Rob, who I am sure will do great, but I sure liked what RC had become. It seems magazines can't figure what the hell they are or who they want to sell to. Hyfire
Both guys who's work I respect. Sometimes business is just business. Best of luck to both of you in wherever you find yourself.
