Phenomenal '53 Chevy At The LA Roadster Show

These pics were made by "wasahawaiianrat" at the LA Roadster Show last weekend.This '53 Chevy is SUPER KOOL and thought it's worth its own post.Again,photo credit goes to wasahawaiianrat,thank you ! I really like that car,the stance is right on.Lots of cool details,great Kustom Chevy !

Thats thing fuckn great I love it. But I wonder what kind of front bumper that is, A one off piece or did it come off of another car.

 

Front bumper is '51 Merc.

The mods on that car are sooo smooth, it looks fantastic. One of the best chevys ive seen. I love the chrome dash.

man i love that car, gives me a ton of ideas for my 53, and since i dont have bumpers, It is definatly something to look into

I have a 54 ht so thats why i took these pics. Not to many people caught it because it was only there on sunday and was on the way out the gate. I think the owner was there by the car with a blue merc that he was selling. i'm not sure i was to busy snapping pics and dizzy from two days of heat stroke!!!!!!

 

second pic from the bottom with the sun glasses. i think thats the guy....i dunno? heat stroke....

 

The work on the rear quarters is amazing...smoooooth!

What is the rear bumper from? Sweeeeet. I'm thinking 56 Pontiac rear for my '54 but that is nice! Great car.

 

I have seen this car locally like at Bob's in Toluca Lake. A young surf kat dude owns it and owns that blue topless Merc that was there too. The detail in this '53 is un-real. You should have heard him tell me how much was involved to get that back window right with the trim and the angle. This deserves a layout in a mag unless it already has. One of the nicest that I have seen in a long time and is right up there with RF' chebby! KNUX!

 

I'd like to see some detail of the bottom of the skirts, does anyone have any that are not in the shadows.

Front and rear bumpers are 51 Mercury.

I disagree, which is why I don't run them on mine. It's purely my perspective, but see how they pull down past the bottom roll of the quarter panel? That to me is too distracting. So is the "squared" wheel opening itself, but in my humble opinion, it looks better left open, or even reshaped. The car is beautiful nonetheless.

 

That is one of the nicest 53 I have seen. I really love the rear qtr panel/ tail light fill. So its seems the bumpers are Mercs, what about the bumper guards. has the look of factory 53 grill teeth on the top side but elongated on the bottom.. probably some factory piece with just tail lights added..

I also think the skirts could be done differently.. does not seem to flow at the bottom edge like it could.. (dont hate them, just there may have been a better shape..). I would take the car in a second.. way nicer then anything I have..

That's funny! That's my yellow Dodge behind it that was only there while we were test driving the '51 Merc next to it! Notice the Merc is missing them appears next to the Chevy- WILD coincidence!

 

Those bumper guards are '54 Chevy,same ones as on Jesus Valencia's '49 Chevy built by the Garcias...
