i started on this plowboy ripoff project a while ago and i havent done shit to it in a while it has kinda just been setting around the last couple monthes , until last week when i started on the frame and getting the body together a little better. it is still in Super Mock Up mode though i just thought i would show some pics for shits and giggles.
Cool. I think it's beggin' for one of those 60s kustom style rear grilles. Maybe get some drawer handles and turn them on end for a buncha "teeth"?
Gonna be a cool body. Plowboy has really opened the doors up on these type customs. What about the front end it need a straight axle
Agreed, I've even kinda digging the Nasa lander style wide fronts and tall skinny rears. Would be killer to drive around in reverse and scare people all day. EDIT: Or I just realized that may be the whole idea. That thing would be sick with a rear engine setup.
yea i figured the camaro sub frame would have a few supporters on here. its a chevy cowl with 57 chevy ass end.
Eh, put a potvin blown 409 in it with the radiator in the back. Those set-ups are laying around all over the place.
I ....uh.... From the cowl back it has potential... the front wheels need to be moved way out in front. It looks like it's going to be a lot of work to get it "right", but the rear kicks ass. Keep us posted.
What have you got planned for the front ? You didn't save the '57 fenders and hood did you ? I think Ed Newton drew a '57 Chevy inspired open wheel Bubble top. It retained a lot of the classic styling cues, but was put together very differently.
I think you can pull off the Camaro front end it you put a quad headlight setup on it with some sort of a funky grille. Keep it the same width of the cowl and bob everything off the frame in front of the crossmember. Most people don't realize how much oom quad headlights take. I didn't have ehough room on my roadster so that is why I didn't run them. Fritz told me that most of the Roth cars were 95 inch wheelbase, so being squatty isn't really a bid deal. You may want to chrome out those A arms and stuff though when you go for final assembly. Roth would have! Ha Ha Ha Keep it up!
Interesting. I will wait till I see more progress before I make any decisions on whether I like the front suspention or not. It could work but I want to see it more finalized.
Shit, I like it. Will be interesting to see what goes on the front. The wheelbase is really unusual but that could be really cool too. I've been waiting a while to see progress on this car.
Damn Casey, let me show how. I like the concept, but... I guess you've a little work to go. And, I just made a deal for 4 of those wheels I wanted. O.K. get back to work.
talk about bringing a thread back from the dead.... 2006? curious though, what ever became of this project?
But that's particularly ugly IFS! Delicate chrome tubular arms with coil-overs would suit it better if it has to IFS.
Seeing this post is 3 years old and no new updates i'm guessing it's a dead deal rather then a done deal.
