Theme cars are a risky business for sure. It's easy to lose sight on just what a hot rod is in an effort to work in that last design idea or cue... and when those i...

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
WOW! Words cannot describe that car! Stunning! Detailed but certainly not over the top. A ground bound "fighter plane". Great article Ryan, Thanks.
I don't care what anyone says that car is the shit. I love the styling, the look, the feel, I can imagine just cruisin around in it or even a lengthy road trip. all the stares, and people admiring the craftmanship. It is AWESOME, no other way to describe it. The green look outs are just fantastic. But what arethe throttle levers used for? I see lines running up to the firewall butno idea what they are for. Anyhow its one badass ride...
Good eye for detail not my cup of tea. All the rivets and the windows in the top. Just put it over the top to were it stands out just to much. Not nocking it just my 2 cents!
kinda off topic, but that little coupe reminds me of one of my favorite trucks out there, the interiors simply kick ass like that in my opinion.
not much said about the drive train. Need more info! Yeah and what are the throttle levers hooked up to. I hope they're not just there for looks.
Seriously amazing work! You guys really pulled that off nicely! The rivet detail is something that I had been looking to incorporate into my build since the beginning, but wasn't sure how it would look in the flesh. You guys NAILED it!!! Hats off to Hot Rod Chassis!!
As good a theme car as I have ever seen, there is not one area I would critisize, simply a time warp bomber piece. Very bold build that would leave yourself open for opinions that you may not like. But I don't think they would give a rats ass, they focused on the theme and nailed it. Hats off team, love it-Sololobo
Amazing craftsmanship and a true eye for detail! I'm not going to get into whether it's something I would build or not, as I can not take claim for the hours that were spent building this. It represents an asset to the hot rod community if it's your style or not. Well done!
I like the interior but the rest doesn't work for me, loose the oversize grille, roof windows and the rivets and it would be one SWEET car. Like Ryan said the workmanship in it is superb! Another aircraft inspired car and Aussie built, Rod Hadfields 55 Chevy with a V12 Merlin in it (as used in the Spitfire and Mustang)
Hey thanks Ryan for the kind words! Here are some specs from our site. You can see some VIDEO HERE Regarding the P-47 throttle quadrant... one is choke, one is main power and the other is the start button. The "gun barrels" aren't gun barrels at all. They are marker lights off a Buick and house the turn signals. They are set up like aircraft regonition lights with one side green, the other side red. Still have some odds and ends to address as we haven't finished the shakedown runs.
Since I've always been a WWII aircraft enthusiast, I'd have to give it two thumbs way up! The only part about that car I don't like is the title.... my name's not on it!
Returning WWII flight engineer builds a hotrod.......unlike OCC building theme "Viagra" bikes. I DIG IT!!!!
I knew this car would put people on two sides of a line, but I also knew there was one aspect that couldn't be argued - the work. I mean, this car has some amazing craftsmanship behind it. The beamed top, the garnish mouldings, the door panels, etc... They straight up amaze me... On the roof inserts... At first I thought they were taking the idea a little too far... a little too literal... and then I saw the green glow they cast on the interior. I love old air planes... and I love the feeling they have... and that glow just does it... Also try to look for the "little" accomplishments the builder made... Whoever mated those headlights to the grill shell has to be proud of his work... very gracefull...
I hate theme vehicles (ie OCC) but this is about as well done as one can get. Not my bag, but GREAT JOB!
Cool! It takes a lot of attention to detail to RIVET a car together. You know, panel fit and whatnot. Any fool can WELD something together. Good Job fellers!
