I found this footage years ago while a student at the University of Oklahoma. I thought I had lost it during one of the many hard drive crashes I've experienced since then, but stumbled upon it last night. It's kind of like seeing an old friend aga...

To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
What great footage. Thanks for sharing that clip. CT was a crankshaft company (I always heard the CT stood for Clem Teboe, the owner). Maybe one of you left coast guys can verify that. Obviously, strokers was for stroked cranks. Mike
It appears to be the opening to the “Hot Rod Story” produced by Alex Xydias I was thinking the same thing. I like how the very end morphs into the line drawing. Gotta did the DVD out and watch it again, if for no other reason than, "Just because."
also, according to so-cal's website, the reissue (dvd) has been altered (lengthened) from the original, so there is chance they just reworked the title sequence.
Always like to see the in car footage from back in the day. For some reason it just seems like it is real kinda like Home Movies lol. Not edited like the stuff of today. And that music makes me think of the old Sid Caeser show-Hah Hah>>>>.
Wow. That nearly brings a tear to my eye. I know it's not the "real thing", but the Milner racing scenes from More AG are excellent.
that just shows how much of a handfull thoose cars musta been. its weaves on the high end a good deal.. Looks like alot of fun... I wanna build a 115" dragster like IVO's first digger in the worst way.. nothing serious just a healthy smallblock just to run it for fun... Alot like the Bomb Factory Digger, but a slingshot instead..
yah...awesome.....100% excellent clip...... The body line down that rail is the most! such a sweet angle! Its like............. Im here saying, "Fuck yeaH!!!! Lets go Racin!!!!!!" Cool lick!
If that doesn't do it for ya nuthin' will. Must be an amazing feeling for sure hurtling down the 1/4 mile high on nitro.
After seeing your clip ,I went and got my vhs tape and it had the same opening as yours. Is that rare ????????
Thanks for sharing the film clip. Brought back a lot of memories. Me and my friends spent a lot of time at Lions Drag Strip. Y-Blockhead
I've got the same vhs tape that I bought years ago from Don Tuttle who was the track announcer at Santa Ana. Don put out three must have videos called "The Way it Was" that I also purchased at the time. Anyway, the dvd has extended footage?? If so I might have to buy it after all.
