Outstanding video and craftsmanship. I originally took a welding class to learn how to do fillet brazing so I could build bicycle frames...took a very very simple crack at it. Let me tell you...building a nice quality bicycle frame is every bit the amount of work the video shows...he makes it look effortless...sign of a true craftsman. Thanks for the vid, seeing these always makes me want to take my meager skills up a notch.
This is why I love this place! Thanks for the video Ryan. A friend of mine has one of his bikes. They're very nice.
I'm gonna build an entire car and film it from beginning to end, hopefully I'll get to that this summer.
Thanks man! Seen that one before. There's a couple others that have blogs like that as well. Also cylce guys and quite a bit of cool machining tricks. Sweet!
Tremendously cool, thanks. There's still quite a few people doing good work like this if you take the time to look, many here on the hamb as well. Thanks for sharing.
Ive said it numerous times..I'd rather see whats going on on any given day in a talented fab shop then go to a car show....
great video! great craftsmanship in front of and behind the camera. i agree with jefferyjames why did they use a sticker and not a hand painted logo? still awesome carfstmanship
That WAS cool. Another cool thing..... A "BICYCLE" thread that won't get closed like all the other ones did!
Awesome video Ryan, thanks for sharing that.I love to see the steps of fabrication on just about anything.
Wow, thank you for posting this... Thats one nice frame jig! notice the tubing hook-ups for back purging argon... phew.. I'm jealous! Zach
Yeah, those guys worked for Salsa until Ross sold it off to QBP, hence my previous equiptment comment
Great timing, one of my work mates just sent this one to me and hadn't had a chance to watch it.. I don't personally know Sean but have seen his work for years. Nice stuff. The black frame jig with the orange handles is made by Don Ferris who runs Anvil bike works, another talent in the industry. Whoever is in Austin, TX the last weekend in Feb. there is the North American Handmade Bicycle Show. I imagine Sean and a bunch of others will be there showing. I'll be there representing my employer, United Bicycle Institute. We teach frame building. Not meant to be a plug just sharing info.
You can get an attachment for your torch and tanks that's like a little acetylene candle. The torch body has an on/off switch that already has a preset mixture. Flip in on and point the torch towards the "candle".
thanks Tman. I just watched it again. That was awesome!! Recognized a main tube and seatstay mitering fixtures made by Jeff Bucholtz at Sputnik Tool. Sorry, I should shut up.
Thanks for the video and the source for new music. I swear Ryan you and I have alot of the same music taste. To me nothing is better than working in my shop with great music. Tje Mattson 2 are great and will down loading this into the Ipod
