I love those big old stockers and super stockers, that's what I grew up with. You could go to a dealer and buy one and race it on Sunday. If you had the money of course. I hung out at a garage for a used car lot that sold high performance cars. 62 - 63 were glorious years. 409, 421, 413, 406, fuel injection, the list goes on. Traditional stuff and investments now. But still in my mind.

Tom Sneden in Bounty Hunters car far lane, looks like he's out some already on Ford in near lane. I'm betting he stayed in front of the Ford and won, knowing him and that Dodge from the past.

  19. May 4, 1969 Jack Doyle’s Slider top gas car with Bob Schneider’s fuel engine in it. Ran 7.0 something to qualify at a New England open top fuel program. Ran Jimmy King round one and had King well covered until an axle broke. I remember the day specifically as I was supposed to be in Ft Lewis Washington to leave for Vietnam. I went AWOL to drive one more race. IMG_1992.jpeg IMG_1824.jpeg
