- Crosley Hot Shot - complete, but unrestored
My father was John C. Mays, from Bloomington, IL and he raced from 1952 to 1959 mostly in the Eastern USA. His first race was in Vero Beach Florida, and led to his design and building of both a flat sided fiberglass body and a sculptured fiberglass body called the "Fibersport". He raced via Chicago SCCA, H-Modified, developing his own invention of a manifold that he put on the Crosley engine - thus allowing his being H-Mod Class Champion in 1957, 1958. His son, David Mays was both Pit Crew, driver and builder of 15 Fibersport cars. Additionally, he built a D-Jag fiberglass body that was consigned. I attended a large number of the races, and have some of the records of the history of the Fibersport.Interact
