    I'VE BEEN A CHEVY GEARHEAD FOR OVER 40 YRS. STARTING WITH '55/'56 CHEVYS IN HIGH SCHOOL CIRCA 1965-68. WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THOSE 7000 RPM/EDELBROCK CROSS-RAM 327 SCREAMERS. LATER 1969-70 MOVIN UP TO THE BIG BLOCKS I.E. '67 VETTE 427/435 H.P. LATER POWERED WITH AN LS-6 454/450 H.P. THE CRATED LS-6 I BOUGHT SUMMER OF'70 COST 700.00 BUCKS + 35.00 CA. STATE SALES TAX. I SOLD THE 427 TO A BUDDY FOR 500.00 IT FOUND HOME BETWEEN THE FENDERS OF NONE OTHER THAN A ''TWO LANE BLACK TOP'' TYPE ''55 CHEV 150 SEDAN. I THINK THE MOVIE CAME OUT ABOUT SUMMER 1971. ANYHOW UNLEADED GAS,ARAB OIL EMBARGO,GAS LINES,OUT OF THE HOUSE ,AND GOING TO SCHOOL ALL PUT A HURT ON MY HIGH PERFORMANCE MODE OF TRANSPORTATION. SO THE VETTE WENT BYE BYE IN SUMMER OF'73. MY NEW RIDE WAS A '72 EL CAMINO. GOT INTO HARLEYS/SPORTSTERS XLCH 900-1000 CC MODELS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE ''DECADE OF DISCO''. THEN ABOUT 1981-82 A FRIEND OF MINE INTERDUCED ME ONE SUNDAY TO THE ''POMONA SWAP MEET''. WELL I THOUGHT IT WAS 1967 ALL OVER AGAIN EXCEPT THE 427 VETTE I BOUGHT IN '69 FOR 4 GRAND WAS NOW SELLING FOR 15-17 GRAND. I KNEW RIGHT THEN I'D BETTER SELL THAT HARLEY IF WANTED ANOTHER THING FROM THE HIGH OCTANE/HIGH PERF. 60'S ERA. I'VE OWNED THE MARINA BLUE ROADSTER FOR 27YRS.NOW AND YES I BOUGHT IT AT POMONA BACK IN SUMMER '82. HAVE HAD 2 OTHER '67 AND ONE '68 VETTE BUT I STILL MISS THE FIRST CAR I OWNED IN '66. A'55 CHEVY BEL AIR HARDTOP MIDNIGHT BLUE,327/365 H.P. EDELBROCK X-C8 CROSS-RAM MANIFOLD W/DUEL 500 AFB CARTERS,SIG ERSON 328F SOLID CAM,2.2O MUNCIE 4-SPD 4.88 GEARS WITH E-T MAGS ALL AROUND WITH 9.50-15 M&H RACEMASTERS OUT BACK.THE CAR RAN A BEST OF 12.73 @ 107M.P.H. I PAID A WHOPPING $1200.00 FOR THAT '55 IN 1966. MAN!!! HORSEPOWER WAS CHEAP AND CHEVRON CUSTOM SUPREME(102 OCTANE) WAS .37.9 A GAL. WELL I'LL LEAVE YOU WITH THAT MUCH INFO FOR NOW. I'VE GOT A SET OF '67 DC RALLY WHEELS I NEED TO PRIMER BEFORE ''OLD MAN OXIDATION AND THE SUNSET COME TO VISIT. THANKS---------ED FOLEY
