Hop Up or Slop Up?

This article calls them “Slop Ups” or “Shot Rods”.. Basically poorly planned and poorly built/ engineered hot rods that were unsuccessful in their pursuits of speed. I’m not going to get on my soapbox about the dreaded “R** R**Z” that just won’t go away, but I think anyone can see the parallels about the results of car put together by someone who didn’t really think it through, or was just looking to get attention more than getting home safely.

Anyhoo, read it over and see if there are any mechanical tips in there for you – I realized I still need to re-jet my carbs and stop burning everyone’s eyes with unburnt gases.
