The 1951 Grand National

The 1951 Grand National

The year of 1951 was a pretty special period in Stock Car racing. It marked the beginning of factory involvement in the league and as such, just about every American manufacturer was represented at one race or another. The biggest event was most likely the Grand National held on the beaches of Daytona Beach, Florida. It was held on February 11th and folks still talk about how damn cold and wet it was…

The weather, however, didn’t stop the famous Marshall Teague who averaged 82.23 mph to take the win in his fabulous Hudson Hornet. Enjoy the sites and sounds of a great weekend in 1951.
