Wrist Twist Steering: Ed Roth would Approve!

Wrist Twist Steering: Ed Roth would Approve!

In the mid 1960s, Detroit Automakers were flush with cash to experiment with new transportation innovations. Case-in-point is Ford hiring aerospace engineer Robert Rumpf and letting him go wild with ideas for futuristic steering controls. His not-so-break-through invention is the two handed “Wrist Twist” system that would theoretically replace the steering wheel someday. This looks like a potentially dangerous idea for the average family car, but on the other hand I think this would be a killer look on a wild sixties Roth bubbletop concept.
