BB Korn Tether Car Replica!

BB Korn Tether Car Replica!

Obvious little cars are still on the brain from my last post, as I have returned from one toy fair and now preparing to leave for another one. Besides die cast and wood toy hot rods, I love Spindizzies too. Tether cars, as they are better know, were born in the late 30s when the Dooling Brothers decided to stick a gas-powered model aircraft engine into a small metal car and in little time a whole new hobby was born. Flash forward to modern times and original, rare tether cars are now extremely sought after and expensive little things. There have been a few replicas over the years but very few that really capture the quality and detail of the originals. Enter Authentic Models from the Netherlands, who have been building vintage-inspired furniture, lightning and models for a half a century. A noteworthy item in their “Museum Collection” is this BB Korn tether car replica, available in bare, polished alloy or a red livery (In the world of tethers, B. B. Korn models were considered the very best as their design and craftsmanship were top notch). The A.M. versions are over 20 inches long, with a cast aluminum chassis, punched louvers, leather seat and rubber tires, just like the original. Look at the detail in the images below and drool!
