The Brian Auderer Flathead
If you’ve been following the “Auderer Roadster” build thread, you know that Keith buttoned up the flathead last week. This weekend, I went out in the shop with my camera and shot it as best I could… I say that meekly simply because I don’t know if I’ve ever shot anything as challenging. Just about everything on the motor is either chrome, polished, or in a super glossy black finish. As a result, I found it damn near impossible to accurately focus my vintage glass and when I did hit the mark, inevitably my own reflection would be present in a header or the oil pan or one of the carbs or…
It was as if I was a Kardashian abusing Instagram with all my might and patience. Only I don’t have a big ass and I don’t wear dresses – publicly anyway.
In any case, that’s my excuse and below you will find my humble results. But first, how about a build sheet of sorts:
- French block bored 3 5/16″
- 4 1/8″ stroked Scat crank
- Scat rods
- Ross Pistons with cast iron rings
- Isky 400 Jr. cam
