Car Craft “Grab Bag�? Part 3: More Hot Rod Tails

Here’s a follow up to my last post on Hot Rod taillight and club plaque treatments, as we dive deeper into the Car Craft archives. This Grab Bag focuses on overall rear end treatments on jalopies- Looking at the taillights, exhaust pipes and rear pans, to see how it all comes together in a 3/4 angle. Hopefully there is some design language and fluidity to the back of the car, as the right tail end elements can all compliment (or the wrong ones can fight) each other. Its amazing how much even a tube bumper changes the attitude of a hot rod from behind.

One note I need to add here- My apologies for the slightly warped images from the Grab Bag posts- It didn’t want to damage the bindings of my old magazines by crushing them in a flatbed scanner, so many of the pages have a slight ‘curl’ to them.
