A Lucky Creative Customs Christmas

A Lucky Creative Customs Christmas

It’s no secret that the Creative Customs XXX-Mas party is the place to be during the first weekend in December. Located in the depths of North St. Louis, Bill Bierman opens his shop to guests of all ages for a night filled with hot rods and hot dogs (brats and burgers, too.) Partygoers were asked to donate money or canned goods to St. Vincent de Paul, a St. Louis non-profit organization dedicated to helping less fortunate families.

The centerpiece of this year’s party was Bierman’s “Leprechaun? dragster, a 195? fully legal, nitro-burning slingshot powered by a Donovan Hemi. With a King Chassis and immaculate detailing, every piece that could be removed was painted, plated or polished. Look for it on the show circuit in 2015 and the dragstrip the following year.

Hundreds of guests spent the evening examining Creative Customs’ past, present and future projects. From altered-wheelbase Jeep match racers (more on this later) to candied mini bikes, the shop looked like a far-out toy chest plunked onto Riverview Drive. Despite the wet conditions, the crowd stayed lively as the band played deep into the night.

Like many of you, I rarely have the opportunity to attend rodding events once the temperature drops. But I figure we’re lucky out here in the Midwest. Although we may not have an ocean or decent weather, we do have Creative Customs Chop Shop. And that’s more than enough to keep the hot rodding flame burning through the long winter months.

Welcome to the party.
