A Revolution On Hold…

A Revolution On Hold…

Friday night at the Speed Shop… It was an open house and someone thought it might be a good idea to release an old Revolution tradition – The Kraken. Any other weekend and I would have been fine with such a bold move, but on Revolution weekend the spiced Rum only comes out on Saturday. It was a hard and fast rule chartered years ago and up until now, no one had ever dared to challenge it.

But this was no “ordinary” Revolution weekend… The show had been canceled a day earlier due to shiity weather and now most of the attendees found themselves caged indoors – swimming in tension and the unknown.

What do we do now?

And so… I figured we’d be fools not to ride this strange torpedo all the way out to the end. I gave that Kraken the kind of hell it had never before been given. And I paid for it all day on Saturday and most of Saturday evening as well.

Through forced grace, I had recovered well enough to tackle our little party at La Mancha by Saturday night. I’m glad too cuz it was one of those “once a year” kind of nights where nothing is planned, nothing is forced, and everything just kind of comes together casually and perfectly. Mostly, it was just a bunch of pals eating Tex-Mex, drinking margaritas, and listening to one of the best bands in all of Austin.

I guess that’s neither here nor there though – The Revolution sucked this year, cuz there wasn’t one… Wait ’till next.

Special Thanks:

1. Will, Steve, Keith – My partners in crime. Pals.

2. The Texas Blue Dots – We couldn’t have had better entertainment on Saturday night.

3. Austin Speed Shop – These guys support us blindly and we love them for it.
