Greg Sargenti’s ’56 Chevrolet

Greg Sargenti’s ’56 Chevrolet

So I started the week off with an article on the Moonglow – a ’54 Chevrolet. Jay then bumped me on Tuesday with a feature on a relatively obscure but super sanitary ’55 Chevrolet. As such, the ball is now in my court and I’ve decided to volley with what is my favorite ’56 Chevrolet to ever roll on mother earth.

To be frank, I know nothing about the car. In fact, the photo you see here is the only shot of the car I’ve ever seen. I found it in Andy Southard’s book, “Custom Cars of the 1950’s.” It came with a caption:

“A typical local-to-Salinas car was this lowered, nosed, and decked ’56 Chevy hardtop belonging to Greg Sargenti, a schoolmate of customizer Rod Powell. Incidentally, the car was painted and striped by Don Varner as well.”

And that’s all I got… Maybe the legendary Rod Powell knows more. Rod, are ya out there? Can you fill us in on your classmate’s car?
