Batten Down the Hatches!!!

Batten Down the Hatches!!!

Here on the Middle Left Coast we’ve been hit with what’s known as the ‘Pineapple Express’ (not to be confused with the Stoner action-comedy movie) which is strong and persistent tropical storm that dumps copious amounts of rain for days on end. Due to a lack of extra garage space, my poor ’57 Pontiac Safari wagon is shivering under a crappy “outdoor” car cover in the driveway. Those of you with Nomads and Safaris know that these wagons leak water around the back window and tailgate at the very thought of moisture, and mine is no different: Soaked carpet in the back, damp and rusting chrome interior trim, and fogged up gauges. It breaks my heart to keep drying her up and trying to keep new rust or corrosion issues at bay. Supposedly, we’ve got one more Pineapple storm front moving through here and then the sun finally returns to warm my poor girl up and dry her out. At least the heater and defroster sorta work, and there’s a fresh coat of Rain-X on the windshield (wipers are for squares)…
