Diggin’ a 36 Humpback…

Diggin’ a 36 Humpback…

I’m not usually one to talk about cars on our classifieds page, but I couldn’t help but take notice of a certain body style that I never would have considered: Thee Inland Emperor Chris listed Len’s 1936 Ford Humpback sedan. For closed 36’s, I always fancied myself a 3 or 5 window coupe guy, or maybe a slantback sedan. But the more I started looking at this subtle custom car, the more I like it… Even with that crazy little trunk butt on the back. Joe’s 36 looks fairly stock at first glance- Just a little lower in the front, chromed stock grille, and big n’ littles on chrome artillery wheels. Black lacquer paint, of course. Hanging out back we find a sweet Columbia two speed rearend, and juice brakes all the way around. The interior is mohair stock tan, with beautiful woodgrain painted dash and garnish moldings. Nice touch. Once we open the hood, things really get good- A 21 Stud flathead dressed to kill with ultra-rare original Eddie Meyer heads, and a Thickstun high rise intake running dual Stromberg 81’s. Did you see the accessory ‘bull horn’ in the corner? The whole package just works here: Traditional Hot Rod/ Early Custom with nothing over the top or out of period. It may be a humpback, but it ain’t no whale… I dig it. Lucky for me, it looks like it may have already sold.
