Stolen

In the past year, we’ve had one member report a stolen car every three months. It’s incredible when you think about it. You never think it will happen to you, but it happens to somebody all the time and eventually, it could be you. We’ve had pretty decent success finding some of these stolen cars through the power of communication and the H.A.M.B., but still… The odds aren’t with the victims.

Two nights ago, a friend of mine’s car was stolen from a hotel parking lot in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. You know him as “8th Grade Genius,” but I’ve always known him as “Magnesium Mikey.” See, Mikey has a thing for magnesium be it wheels, quick changes, rare steering wheels, or anything else made from the crazy stuff. He’s a freak for it. He’s also one of the best guys I know. He’d walk over burning coals to save ya from a run away freight train and then give ya the shirt off his own back once you were safe. He is one of those types… Genuine.

And it kills me that he is now lurking around a city he doesn’t know with keys to a car that is god knows where. He’s down and out… Who could blame him?
