NHRA Exhibit at the Petersen…

I was in LA for a work trip a few weeks ago and got to check out the Petersen Automotive Museum’s latest exhibit, “NHRA- Sixty Years of Thunder”, which had just opened four days earlier. They did a great job of getting some very iconic drag cars, from Dick Craft’s BUG and the Calvin Rice Slingshot, all the way up through the best of the FED’s, Funny Cars and Altereds. The space is nicely laid out, with lots of graphics and signs, and the racing memorabilia is top notch. I’ve also included some images from the mock Speed Shop downstairs, complete with a period correct parts counter and an A-V8 build diorama in the back. A few spots away, I found the customizer’s garage with a chopped Merc in progress. Did I mention the Ray Brown and Bill Niekamp roadsters are still on display?  If your killing time in Los Angeles anytime soon, this whole museum is definitely worth checking out.

*Apologies for the semi-blurry pics- I need a new camera!*
