Whenever I hear about honing a taper roller bearing to create a tool for test fitting I think about the tolerance on the bearing "stand" dimension. On some stuff 0.004"/0.008" should not be overlooked. Then there is the effect of interference fit on the bearing "length" and the "setting" procedure.
This is why I measure to see if there is a difference between a tester bearing to the bearing being used and factor that in.
I'll commend Yukon's tech guys, there's 2 of them, they know their business and good guys to talk to.
