He asks me..... Sure I say. Then this stuff shows up. And no, I'm not selling it. My coupe project may be changing build styles yet again....

Pretty sure very old Hurst Airheart, or Airheart. Haven't looked yet. The calipers look magnesium. Early 60s stuff.

  4. Same style as Mercedes hubs and rotors

That's a round tube, shaped. Right? NOT a '37 Ford V860 tube axle...?

Those calipers are Airhearts, they are aluminum and have some sort of coating on them that gives them a sort of gray/brown color. They can be rebuilt pretty easily provided the pistons and the bores in the caliper halves are not corroded. Pucks can by difficult to find and expensive too.

Yes, It's a V8 60 axle. It's oval tube, just a odd angle to see in the picture.

The "coating" is hard anodizing (rather than the usually bright cosmetic anodizing used to make parts look pretty)

    Hello,
The Airheart Disc Brakes were popular on the cars and bikes in the late 60's and early 70's. Some guys put them on American Mag spokes.

This was a complete ground up, custom design and installation. One of the first ones...

Man, I lust after those calipers. The wheels and tires are really tasty too. I have a 65 falcon I will put my FE in eventually, those calipers would look killer on the ends of a dropped tube axle with late sixties vintage coil overs....
