    I like it.

I'll take creativity over just another boring-ass red or yellow paint job anyday.

I gotta agree with Germ on this one, if they are advertising that there hot rod shop can take ANY vehicle, new or old and "weather" it than they accomplished there goal, but if i saw the truck from a distance and didnt know better the only reason i would want the number is so i could AVOID that shop, gives the impression that that cant even fix there own vehicle. I do appreciate the time and craftmanship but the message seems wrong for the intent. JMO

Fisrt off Kustomwanker you are an ass. I don't think you need any more salt with all that sucking up yer doing. There now you have a REASON to slam me. So feel free cause its funny that you take shit on the net so personal. I ain't gonna respond to it other than this.

As for the paint job, the workmanship it looks pretty go in the pict. Makes not a bit of sense but looks like fine work. I can see if your were gonna park in mueseum or something. Do you wax the "weathered" spots or does it just get left alone? I'm in total agreement with Germ on it but hey its not mine so have fun with it.

Man, I didn't mean to stir up the pot, I just thought some of you would like to see it. If you don't like it I would think that "I don't like it" would be enough, but apparently not. I hate to think what some of you must think about my tub!

i guess not everybody is as knowledgeable as you Ray nor do we all have you exceptional taste. ---in case you did'nt pick up on it that was all SARCASM assface!!!! fuckin critics, i'd like to line em all up and shoot em in the knee, see how they like that!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

hmm, one of the posts i was referring to was changed or deleted?

anyway, i DO have high expectations, and like to think i have pretty decent taste, and i grew up with farm trucks. when someone tells me, "hey check out that period 50's custom over there" i don't want to walk over and see digital gauges and airbag switches, that ain't period. same with a paint treatment. i don't dislike the concept itself, i have a few fake patina projects in the works myself, i was offering a little constructive criticism, if a little blunt. if one person says it don't look like real patina, then theres a hundred more that are thinking it but ain't gonna say it. from what the pics show, it looks about like any other vehicle being prepped for a paint job, and maybe given up on.

this assface says too fuckin bad if people can't handle opinions. at least i didn't call it an ugly piece of shit or whatever whoever said. anybody in the hot rod/custom thing should be able to cope with those whose opinions are not the same. some of us dig styles that NOBODY else seems to understand or comprehend, so rejection is part of the game. i'd be in a rubber room if i got pissy everytime some jackass told me what i "should" do to my shit.

the internet can be kinda like at a show, when you just stand back 20 feet from your own car, and listen to comments, do you rush over and start yelling and argueing at every person who makes a critical comment?

oh, and i don't even dislike the truck, i just could look "a little more real" [IMG]

  14. I guess this is a nice illustration of what a bunch of miserable jack-offs can say about a man's vision for HIS ride...
    un-frig'n-real. [IMG]

Yeah I know what "right" do I have even looking, much less speaking out. After all I'm just a F'n new guy. [IMG]

The best part about this board "WAS" seeing everyone's work in their pics and hearing how somebody else got it done.

    There ain't no rules...
Soooo get off your keyboard and go build a truck.

I've found that time and money are the only real factors involved, since I'm just a taxpayer and a family man (with a life).
Do what you can with what you have, and drive the hell out of it when you're "done".

I think it's a nice truck. Enjoy it.
Opinions are seldom very useful anyways.

Because I live in Michigan, I CAN'T like my friends truck?? and I'm a bitch?? This is fucking great! [IMG]

Everyone lumped into the same pot. [IMG] Seems to me MOST HAMB folks don't like that being done to them and raise holy hell when it's done by "outsiders". Why are we doing it to our own?

If you like the truck great, if you don't, thats fine too. I certainly CAN'T understand the name calling. [IMG]

  18. This is a good example of why some people have left the HAMB. Some people need to get a hobby beside stirring up shit on the internet. Maybe they should try HOT RODDING- I hear it's pretty fun!

Germ: The best mechanics are usually the ones who's rides look and sound like they need a tune-up. Seems they're working on everyone else's shit and never get around to their own. That's the guy I want working on mine. Not the guy who's playing with his while mine sits. [IMG]

I like the guy who built Walmart. Worth millions, and he drove around in an old pickup truck because he liked it. My kind of guy.

Then there's Orange County Choppers. So busy building and displaying their theme bikes they are always complaining about having to get around to customer bikes (After we finish this latest theme bike). I wouldn't let them check my oil, much less build me anything.

When I go to a shop, I want to talk to the old fart with the beat up pickup and greasy overalls. Not the college kid with the tie and pocket protector motoring up in his new Lexus.

A shop truck or a junkyard dog should look like what they are, not a show piece. Having said that, I prefer real patina to fake, but I kinda like the skill involved in doing a good fake. I have a buddy who has a rusty 1914 model T that looks like it's too far gone to save. But it runs like a top and drives great. He built a deck lid for the turtle deck from scratch, then tried rusting it every way he could think of to make it look like the rest of the car. Had more fun trying to rust that perfect lid than he did making it! And that's the point, having fun. He has another T same year and model that looks showroom fresh. He likes parking them side by side at shows like a before and after thing. Only the before one actually runs better than the after one! [IMG]

you ask for an OPINION and you get ONE??

    FAKE PATINA is GAY

then KUSTOMBUILDER doesn't like the OPINION. so his vagina gets all wet,,
I imagine that in michigan he might have BUILT you your 350 powered cutlass wagon..

I think the FAKE patina, is GAY...
But hey what do I know,,

AN observation from a CALIFORNIA KUSTOMS PRUDE.
isn't an insult, unless you look at it like that!

I don't have a problem with you having an opinion but you don't think that the above statements aren't insulting?
I'm not crazy about some of the things that some people do with their cars but I don't call 'em "gay" or "bitches".
If they ask for an opinion I just give it.

Hey Matt, after readin' all the bitching and whining everyone's doing, I've changed my mind. At first I thought your truck was really cool, and well done, but now I realize it would only be cool if it was flat black. [IMG]
So now you know your truck is gay, and I guess all of us HAMBers that were up in Fmuth are gay too. [IMG]
Oh... one more thing, hey there critics, are we all gay because we liked Matt's truck, or are we gay because we're from MI? [IMG]

  27. While we are on the subject...

If I paint flames on my car, or should I actually light the thing on fire. Or should I look for one that was on fire once, and not paint it.

I wouldn't want to paint "fake" flames lest being called a gay bitch from Michigan (I was born at Cottage Hospital, Grosse Point, MI).

people have different tastes and ways of expressing themselves, and unless you respect and value the individuals opinion, who the hell cares what anybody thinks or what they think of you.

Now, I think it's time for a group hug.

    Threadkiller strikes again.

    yeah GROUP HUG, I agree....
as long as KUSTOMBUILDER, holds my hand, and HATCH too...

the FAKE PATINA thing kinda bugs me a little, cause I really TRY and STRIVE to make cars semi NICE, and when I have really serious customers, I try to stay sober and really go the extra mile to make their car special..

adding FAKE PATINA just seems weird..

I guess cause Ive owned several cars that were serious PATINA, and I couldn't wait to get it back from the dipper, and start straightening out panels...

to each his own I guess.....

i'm having fun. everything i said is doing just what i expected it to and i think its hilarious. they are the ones who need to lighten up, i'm just playin with em thats all. it was also kind of an experiment. see i posted pics of this truck a couple days before Donzie started this post and not near as many people replied on that thread as this one once i started giving some people a little drama. i know it's just human nature but i find it ammusing.

no, he did'nt hear it, he left too. i think he decided his time would be better spent in the garage building hot rods, or one of his buddie's lowrider trucks which he seems to spend way too much time on.
