I've been without internet access for a while, but I did manage to get some things done in the garage. I finally got a top on it and found a rear window opening. It's also got wheel wells and some steel inner structure installed.

Thanks, I also found a picture of the body before I started, once the scanner starts to cooperate, I'll get it on here too.

    And one more.

The body when I got it was pretty banged up and rusted at the bottom. It had a roof off of who knows what and the whole thing was racked before it was put on there. The door checks were pulled out of the doors and jambs, one side saw enough force to twist the jamb so that the door bound up on it. It was also a leatherback, which meant no beads behind the quarter windows and no rear window either. Oh yea!, and as other Vicky fans know, all the inner structure from the doors back (including all of the subrails) are made out of wood.

I've finally got everything hung, the roof done, wheelwells in and some inner structure. Now it's blown apart so I could finish boxing the frame, put in some braces, mount the shocks and reposition the Panhard bar. It currently has a fresh Olds 215 aluminum V8 (1960-63) that looks awesome in there, but I'm not real attached to it and will probably get replaced by something else eventually. Also, it will most likely sit a bit higher in the rear and lower in the front when done. It may even get a hood.

Sorry I haven't been on here much lately. I need to get a new computer and only check in from time to time. The car has been static for a while other than finishing the frame (boxing and shock mounts) as well as welding the rear window opening and making drip rails. I should be getting back on it by next week and have another update in a month or two.

    Update!

Not running yet but making progress.

Body back on for the moment with firewall done and a bit more rear tire clearance with spring spacers added.

    One more.

By the way, all the square tube was bent with conduit benders. The 1/2" bends easily but the 1", which is fairly thinwall, needs a "crimp" on the i.d. and this was accomplished by clamping some 1/4" rod to the center of the channel as shown in pics. The last pics are something I cobbled up to make adjustments and add or remove twist from the tube.

Wow, bitchin'. Did I miss how you shrunk out the secondary beltline? The cowl band is a great detail!

    Sweet.

  26. That's one hell of an update. Looks fantastic!

More on the rain gutter details ?

Thanks and sorry, no pics of that, but I removed 3/4"? out of the whole car to get rid of the valley between the double bead. Things just snowballed with this thing and it all started because of a rusted out header that got the '32 treatment.

Thanks, the driprails were formed out of 1/4" rod and blended in with alot of welding and careful grinding. I originally planned formed gutters out of sheet metal but this was much easier and I just want it done at this point.
