Looks like you put a shine on the '54 like you said to keep the neighbors happy.

Not much yet, just buffed a little bit of the hood. Like how it came out. Just been too busy working on the other 54.
Think the black one will look pretty cool when it's a shiny patina though

Time sure flew... was just over ten years ago I took this photo in the back yard of my former home in Yucca Valley:

Tried to ID some of the bits on another thread - rear body turned out to be '30 Dodge but nobody could recognize the cowl (mid-20s roadster or touring). Front bumper was Jordan, of all things. Got all of it from the estate of local rodder Charlie Hutson.

Actually, the rear half of that body is 1931 Dodge. The 1930 has no reveal running down the rear quarters. I have 2 1931 Dodge business coupes and they are identical to yours....

    Aha. Thanks!
Found my previous thread. Here's the cowl again if anyone else wants to take a whack at an ID:

  9. All you need now, is to plant an engine in it.

I'm about to build a wooden V block, and bolt two Holden six heads to it.
Can't wait to watch the gear heads try to figure that out.
    Holden never built a V12. :D

  10. I've made some small changes.
The grill needed a body, so I fired up the laser guided skill saw, and cut up some plywood.
Only had some old blue paint to seal it up, (were having a very wet Summer down here) untill I paint it silver.
I added a junk Chinese oogha horn a Hot Rod shop sold me (bastards) and put an old oil can on the running board.
Idea for that, is in case some asshole messes with this thing, give em something you don't care about to run off with. :D IMG_20170129_181145.jpg IMG_20170129_181155.jpg

What a lot of people here call yard art, I'd be dragging home to resurrect.

I love the radiator shell - it bears a strong resemblance to a certain "1928 Porter":
    ;) Was that intentional?

    Thanks, but not really intentional.
    I accentuated it for appearance.
I would have made it more like a 29 Caddy if I'd thought about it, but I got carried away.
I've recently downloaded a pic of a 29 Cad grille, so I can get a sticker made of the badge, to put on it.

If I get busy at work, (and make some spare cash) I'm also planning on a ful gloss black paint job, with full color flames.

  21. 1929 Cadillac grille badge.
I'm not sure if this is off a Fleetwood, like my body, but it's close enough.

The real story is it was owned by a Doctor in Dallas Oregon ,in 1957 the Doc died and the family parked it in the family barn, with it's under 28,000 original miles, Intel a Friend of mine bought it and parked it at my place about 6 years ago, then he died and I inherited the car, I don't have proper storage for it so I will be putting it up for sale I don't really want to but I have got to much going on right now ... I have the original wood spoke wheels and it runs and has no rusted out spots and the original paint still shine's up....The End[IMG]

I grew up in Dallas and remember the family. His son had a Rolls Royce he would drive in the Crazy Dayz parade every summer. They had a lot of cool old cars in their barns. Have wondered what happened to all of them. There were A LOT of cars there.
