id agree for the most part.. but hey i did learn what mufflers were used during the 50s.. so i am thankful for that. even tho a sperate thread on the topic would probably have more information less bullshit.. laughs.

Starting a noise thread, with to paraphrase the statement (I try to be quiet) shows that you know that it's not quite. leaving it idle in the driveway while you puter about for 10 minutes agravates the problem you know exists.

Getting a warning based on an officers opinion is meaningless, getting a noise ticket without a db reading or having a specific db rating in the law is bogus.

Having a law that says your motor vehicle must be equiped with a muffler/mufflers in good working order is an equipment violation, disguised as a noise suppression law, if you as not properly equiped.

You made a choice so live with the consequences,
So either excercise some common sense and equip your vehicle as the law directs, or take your medicine without whinin!

So do you need sombody to hold your nose?

Dang, thread is still going .We have insults, name calling, one threatening to burn the neighbors house down, one claiming to rev up his loud-ass hot rod by a cop,one thinking hes the badest guy in the neighborhood,a couple bringing out the lawn mower. Fellows, put some ventilation in your shops cause the exhaust fumes from the straight pipes are destroying your brain cells.

Can't blame the neighbors, I get tired of loud pipes and radios, used to get stopped for loud pipes in the old days, shoved steel wool up the pipes and took it to the police station and they would void the ticket, drive around for a while then run it hard down the highway and burn the steel wool out. Now I won't ride with some of my friends on the bike because their pipes are so loud they bother you 1/2 miler back. There are enough people trying to get hot rods off the streets without fueling the fire with straight pipes and open headers.

I'm always amazed at the number of people who will complain about a thread as though they're being forced to read it. Don't like it, don't click on it.
