Box up those spindles bro. I guess I could drop the motor and trans/od into the BarnfindT while I work on the frame and body for my coupe....
yeah... you know... elections will be over soon... I guess going to the polls means something to that coupe. i had to look again at those pics to see the pole laying down in the grass in that one pic... thats CRAZY. I'm voting NOSURF. what the hell are you doing up so early?
Damn Jay, this really bites. Glad to hear you're ok though. That super secret cam must have really come to life when you hit second gear....... Seriously though, when you figure out what parts you need let me know. Most of those parts should be pretty easy to scrounge up. Chris
Man,that sucks Glad your ok and seem to be taking it in stride,,, So,,,Always look at the bright side of life! HRP http://www.mwscomp.com/sounds/mp3/brghtsd.mp3
Good to hear you're ok. Now that's traditional!!! -- experimenting and pushing the limits and learning from and correcting our mistakes -- that's what hot rodding is all about. Thanks for sharing the story! Again, glad to hear you're ok.
like my dad has asked me."did you learn anything?" there aint no way i would have posted any pictures.i keep my mistakes to myself. anyway, glad you are ok. -danny
you gunna play, sometimes you gotta pay. I would keep that chunk of pole so you can tell folks it cost you $1000
My Dad and his Buddy took out a power pole with his Buddy's Dads 65 Galaxie back when they were in High School. They made up some lame excuess about hitting a deer. His Dad was mad, but knew you can't always miss them. Until about a week later when his Dad got the bill from the power company for the cost of a new pole! His Buddy then admitted that they were out tearing around on a gravel road, and he lost control of the car and hit the pole ABOUT 6 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND after flying across a drainage ditch! Then the shit REALLY hit the fan....needless to say, he had to pay for the pole!
For those that say our cars are dangerous in a crash I submit this as evidence. A Prius,Escape,or modern full size pickup would have prob been totalled with the same hit!
Ron Pole '08! Dude I told you texting while driving was the DEVIL. Chin up though, you have a twice built A before some poser touches his again. Off to the crawlspace....
At least you did a number on that power pole. Never go out without a fight, eh? Get better soon, and good luck with the car.
Dang Jay that sucks buddy. Just glad your OK.If you need anything just let me know.Hey how about a MidWest HAMB rebuild?
You here on this site still typing means that another Hot Rodder was NOT lost! I cannot imagine just how sick to your stomache you felt after it. Sorry for your accident, and its good to see your keeping a positive attitude about it.
Man, that's bad news! Glad you're ok, it's easier to re-build the car. I think that most of us have been there at one time or another. Good luck gettin' her back together.
Sorry to hear about another wrecked A! My knee aches looking at your pics and thinking of my own A wreck. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=275101 Good luck with the rebuild. I'm so glad you fared better than I did in your wreck! Keep your chin up.
Jay, glad to here you're alright. It really sux about the coupe. You're welcome to anything I have that might help you fix the damage. Make a wish list and I'll send it out your way with Fritz in a month or so. Again, glad you're okay. Bil
Damn guy! I heard the news but the pictures - wow! Glad you're alright. Barn Find mentioned that you might be looking for a bucket - something to decorate the cab over with?!
Sorry for the news, sounds like the new will be better than before. Image for ya but just couldn't add the body bag. Not this close to Buddy Holly's 50th anniversary - kinda creeps me out.
