Some of you may remember Big Jungle Jim & his blown flatty powered 32, here's the before pic......look on there's more!
Holy crap!I´m sorry to hear that. I´ve never seen something like that before... do you already know what could have caused the damage? I hope you´ll be able to fix it soon! Chris
The con-rod snapped just before the little end. Going to rebuild motor. Got new block, luckly crank is saveable. Just need one new piston, new cam and lifters and a new set of rods. Does anyone know of anyone who makes better 21a rods than can take a bit more stick.
Wrist pin fit was my first thought, (gudgon pin in the UK), I'd check with Corella about new rods. The Bonneville guys should have the answers to long life lower ends. Best wishes on the rebuild!
[ QUOTE ] I'm sure he'll just build a bigger, badder one! [/ QUOTE ] you're not wrong there....he loves to spend his hard earned cash.
[ QUOTE ] Thanks for the info. Looks like i will be onto the loan company on monday again. [/ QUOTE ] Not gonna be ready for the weekend then, Jim? That's a real fucker.
a place called cat makes some big heavy h-beams that use a 2.2 chrysler bearing... the things are like lead compared to the stockers .. just have to crank the boost up more!!
Jim Sorry to hear about your motor. You may want to check out www.cunninghamrods.com. I have a set of 59A Full floaters if they are any good to you. I believe Crower have also made custom forged rods for Bonneville cars. Rich
