I lowered the headlights a inch'n a half... started to "sketch" with 1/4 steel rod how the frame aprons are gonna look.

I'm going to make a bolt on style chrome rod bumper in front with a half circle off the top bar. I crudely bent that 1/4 rod and tacked it to show where the first bar would go.

I like the headlights lower... from the side you cant even see them... I've concidered the legality of the headlight placement from the ground and over ruled it on the grounds of cool.

I sectioned a inch out of the center of the grill and that piece of conduit is TEMP... the grill will get built with a normal surround on the bottom that will match the distance of the quads from the ground.

The grill narrower makes the car look more streamlined and the engine got bigger... haha.

Im not sure if im gonna make the aprons out of fiberglass or steel... They'll attach to the top of the frame rail and quad.

Gonna be cool man. I haven't decided whether or not to go quads on my new one. I guess it depends on what I come across and how much they are. Your car is gonna kick ass. Too bad you couldn't make it Saturday, I wanted to meet you.

Nice. I say make them out of fiberglass, that way if you tweak one you can just stick it in the freezer to straighten it.

I tried canting them and everything under the sun... but they make sense to me like they are.

Grimlock did ya get a package yet? huh? wha? I could grind up a Z rim and make a new composite material that I could form over a foam and plaster mold... dude.

Tuck - Not that you need me to swing on your nuts but I think they look right just like they are. I think canting them would look like you did it just so you could list "canted quads" on your piece of hand lettered plexi....actually a hand lettered sign for that car would look pretty rad.

I've got no package yet. But no worries. Rest assured as soon as I get it you'll have something on the way too. I want you to post a pic. of you busting out a lawnmower just like Fred Blood used to.

I was thinking of just a slight big of canting, not the 45 degrees that was common about the time I was born. Just scoot the bottom lights in maybe an inch, I think it would somehow look more natural.

But I may be out to lunch, as usual...

I have to go with Squirrel on the canted lights. If you go back to the second picture and imagine the bottom lights pulled in toward the grille an inch or so and then look at the cowl, they should line up. It also gives the front end a more interesting look instead of everything being squared up.....but then what do I know....i'm talking to squirrels [IMG]!!!! [IMG]

  24. I like the quad idea and those bezels look great but I feel that they are to low it just has a not quite there feel to me.

  25. Works for me, I really dig the "apron" idea. Didnt see that at work today, busy working and not enough time to really look!

  26. That looks awesome Tuck, what are the headlight bezels from? Look like 58 Chev to me but they could be any number of things Im sure...

Reminds me of the Chili Catallo Deuce Coupe...that's a good thing. The Alexander Brothers are from up that way, and it looks like something they would've done.

    Right on...

    I dig it.

I agreed with those that said that a mild cant would look good. I also think the headlights are too low right now. And I would move them inward a bit as well. But that's just one opinion.

Do you have a sketch of what kind of shroud will pull all of the elements together up front?
