Hot Rods Women Mechanics and Hot rodders???

Girls + Cars = Kick ass!

 

The biggest opportunity for growth in hot rodding and the automotive hobbies in general is with women.

This is important: many young men aren't as interested in cars as they were say, back in the '60s. If you want to grow the sport/industry, you have to include women too. It makes no sense to exclude 50 percent of the potential audience by ignoring 50 percent of the population.

Also: modern couples and families tend to share their hobbies and activities. Check out the Good Guys or Power Tour events. It's couples and families now.


Here's a column I wrote at HOT ROD a few years ago on the subject. Blah, blah, blah, etc.

 

Women have always been involved in the car world. Mechanics, drivers(when the times allowed), and supporters, they have participated, helped, and been there for generations of hotrodders, racers, and gow job drivers.

 

My wife like hotrods and harleys and can do
enough wrenching. She changed camshaft once
in a macdonalds parkinglot on a volvo so she
could get home .She also tame horses,she take
on the real nutcases,And dogs,she also like guns
quite a god marksman.She also like higheels and
makeup and fancy clothes
My ex didnt like hotrods didnt like higheels didnt like me......
So i gues i traded up

 

check out post #237.....we're both lucky guys, mine will be tearing down a 56 223 6cyl on sunday then cap the day off with some range time, i bet they would get alone well together

I bet they would.
My wife forbid me to tell this but one time on the shoting range
she had to take a leak went in to the woods and sqated down
in an ant hill came out of the woods with her pants down screaming
ANTS ANTS OOOWWWHHH
The guys on the range dont made so god results after that

 

Hell my wife grabbed me when I was 20, she was 35 . 30 years later and we are still best friends and happily married. She looks way younger and I look well........................Cougar was not even a term for older women with younger guys.
