Window Glass Bedding?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by DoubleClutch, Apr 4, 2009.

  1. I've got a question for the glass guys! I'm replacing one of my rear vent windows on my 40 merc sedan. I purchased a roll of glass bedding material to go between the glass and the metal frame from Mac's. It seems to be sort of a synthetic gasket like material 1 and 1/16" wide with self stick on one side. My question is how to use it. Does the sticky part fold around the glass and then slip into the frame as a unit and then do you trim it off with a razor blade at the frame height?
Thanks for the help. I'm probably over thinking a simple fix!

  2. Glue side to the glass. May have to use some black electric tape to hold in place. Make it fit the glass as best you can. Put the glass in the frame using some spray glass cleaner for lube. trim with a sharp blade. Electic tape will help hold the glass after you set the glass in the frame.
