Event Coverage Who's going to Dragfest this weekend?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Groucho, May 1, 2009.

  1. If a little rain means racing, that's fine. If a little rain means no racing, that's not so good. It's raining like a mofo here, it's been raining in Bakersfield, and all I'm asking for is a little Johnny on the spot weather report from a local tomorrow morning.

    Thanks,
    Kurt

Hey, have fun Scotty. Hope the weather comes around for ya'll. I'll tell you, Fuel Altereds running all out and lifting the wheels way past half track is an amazing thing to experience. I hope you get to see some good passes.

Its still raining right now. I will be out there early tommorrow morning. Hopefully the rain stops. Reminds me of March Meets a few years ago.-Weeks

  7. The "hour to hour" report shows 0% now at 6AM, increasing to 5% through 11AM, then it goes to a whopping 15% chance. I'd stay home too if I were you. BUT, I'm not you, so I'm outta here in 45 minutes:D. PS-what's MPG got to do with anything?

  8. Well you're running late.

That's good. Hopefully someone will chime in with a quick weather report even though it's been made into a bigger issue now.

MPG means Money per Gallon of rain? Actually, it was also a subtle crack combined with curiosity about the Matrix.

What a great day of racing!!! Had a blast! Can't wait till next year. Zombie did a great job with the event. Lots of amazing rides. Left my camera in the car to carry sun tan lotion. It was hot in the sun with a cool breeze and perfect in the shade.

    Way to go Scott.

  17. I JUST got home. I'm beat. The event and weather were XLNT

  18. I got home a little while ago. I got sunburnt, and I guess I'm kind of burnt out on Famoso.

The top of my dome got roasted too, but it was well worth it. I just started a picture thread if you give a chit.

I finally did something smart. SPF70 in an aresol can!

Great time! Great meeting some people face to face.

Wound up watching much of the event with some of Zombie's family. Thanks to all for making this Texan feel at home. Thanks to Kiwi Kev for making me get out for it.

    Pics and video to come...

  22. I swear, between you and Muttley complaining about sunburns at Famosa in 75 degree weather, I'm wondering if you're just a bunch of women? What the Hell do you do when it's 100?

HAHA, how did I get dragged into this, I wasnt even there.

  25. I think THAT was my point. You stayed home because it was a whopping 75 degrees:D:D. See, I remember your bitching about the 75 degree "HEAT" from a couple yrs ago:eek:

I stayed home mainly because my car is out of commission. The forecast calling for rain didnt help, yes I know I wont melt, I just really, really hate rain. I'm not talking a slight dislike or something I'm mildly uncomfortable with, I mean HATE. :D ;)

  27. I wasn't complaining, I was reporting. I was concerned about rain and I ended up getting burnt.

As for 100*, I don't care for that, but then again I haven't seen you out at El Mirage in the summer.

And I just wanna say this because it's crossing my mind. "Go back to Jersey, ya moron!" I've heard it on Cousin Brucie's radio show (which I don't like) sign-off. I think it's a line from a movie. Anyone?

    Back to my knitting,
    Kurt

Sweat, but I'll take it over great lakes winters any day ....... :D
    ....... or I wouldn't be here.

Sgt', did you come by our pits? I'd hoped to meet you. Or did I lose it in the haze?

  29. Sorry, I didn't see this until now. No, I didn't. Thanks, and I'll make a point of it next time. The only HA/GR I saw up close was the red oxide one. I missed most of the HA/GR runs, too. I uploaded my cell phone snapshots here: http://s164.photobucket.com/albums/u31/sgtlethargic/Dragfest 09/

    Thanks,

    Cool, thanks.

I started a photo file on the car under its new ownership to add to my west coast HAMBsters files set.
