Does anyone know who makes a bear jaw latch kit that can be used with stock door handles?,i have seen them just forgot where,,,thanks
We install the bear jaw latch and the stock handle then make whatever linkage is necessary to connect the two. sometimes you have to be creative and use a bellcrank but looking at it will usually tell you what you need. Frank
When I did my 34 truck I just bought both the inner and outer assemblies . I got mine from a local shop. I think any shop that sells latches will sell the assemblies.Check out this link. http://www.carolinacustom.com/pages/product_pages/door_latch_hardware/door_latch_hardware_page.jsp
for the bear CLAW latches, there are too many cars out there to make kits specific to all of them. Fender Bender International as well as the Hoffman Group (AutoLoc) both make bell crank kits to adapt to your car. i have never seen a direct bolt in for any car though.
I never saw bear claw latches, they made of pastries? Doesn't seem very strong. Anyway I got my bearjaws from carolina custom, fast shipping and worked well.
they came stock on sunfires, cavaliers, toyotas, the junk yard can be your friend, for 1/3 the cost. unless you insist on 1800-dial a-part Bear CLAW http://www.rodandcustommagazine.com/techarticles/0705rc_bear_claw_latch_install/index.html Bear JAW http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Slim-Line-Bear-Jaw-Door-Latch,2268.html?parentDisplayId=19038 Toyota http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-9...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2eaa25a264

I'll be dammed never knew there were Bear Claw & Bear Jaw. Can learn something new every day, thank you.
Do you work for Autoloc? There was a thread a while back that listed the oe application autoloc markets as a streetrod part. an industrial latch available from grainger for cheap. Damned if I can find it now.
