Not shown is my Mom's '31 sedan that she's owned since '83, and my wife's '69 427 'vette that she's owned since '86. We don't spend a bunch of money on "For Sale" signs...

    from nowhere...

I haven't held on to ANYTHING for that long, except my Marshall JCM800 Head.
My cars seem to come and go...
A trend I'm trying to change!

well, they are OT, but the Blue car since '66, the white car since '77, the black one(not in pic) since '82( all 2+2's) . the roadster is only for 2 years, but will be around the next time this question is asked.

I bought the rockettruck (my avatar) as a beat-up stocker in January of '76 for 50 bucks. 33 years...

Now and then I have to remind my wife that I've had my truck longer than I've had her! 30 years... :)

  15. My '40 has been in my family's possesion for about 37 years, and the title was given to me for my 16th birthday, 27 years ago. I finally got it on the street in 1995. The paint is a backyard quickie, and still has the original seat covers and what little is left of the headliner. It's been to Lou'vul 2 times, StL and KCMO several times, and all over SWMO.

    How about same family?

My grandfather owned since 1948. He has since passed away and the car is still in the "family".

I bought my '51 Chevy coupe in the spring of 1981. It was a root-beer brown resto-rod sitting on the back of a car lot in Denton, Texas. The old man wasn't about to let a 16 year old kid finance a car so he let me come over every day and eat my lunch in it until I paid it off. I taught a pretty little red-head how to drive a three on the tree and in exchange, she showed me how to drive a red-head in the back seat. The paint is different now I'm on the third motor, 2nd tranny, second rear-end, but she still gets to work every day. [IMG]Here she is in the parking lot today.

I was given my '41 Ford Deluxe Tudor in Dec of '75. My friend got it from Winder's Wrecking Yard in Mojave, Ca. He bought it to get the Deluxe bumpers for his '40 Ford Coupe - the price . . . . . #50 ! What I got was a body and frame, no hood, no axles, etc etc etc. With luck there was a guy in Hesperia Ca that sold me the axles, steering, springs hood and all the part to make the car a roller. I bought a fresh 260 Ford V-8 short block for $195. The trans I used was out of a '39 Merc. By Sep of '77 it was blown apart the frame was cleaned and painted with spray cans and reassembled. It was running, registetred and been on the road ever sense.

  27. My '40 Ford has been in the family since 1941 and in my garage for the last 40 years. Course it's a long ways from being done, but someday, before I die...

Sir, that's nearly as perfect a 'Vette as can be.

Sort of, for me. I've been enamored of "Toad" wagons for rather a long time and am on my third consecutive one since '68.
