I know we have a LOT of HAMB members who have not yet been alive 25 years or been driving 25 years ... But a lot of us are GREYBEARDS and been around awhile.

Who has owned the same Hot Rod vehicle for over 25 years ?? :D

I often read on here that " this one is a keeper " and then see it for sale or trade in the classifieds. I understand that tastes, priorities and sometimes divorces force changes ... but I was wondering who had managed to keep their " KEEPER " for 25 years ?? :)

I have had my 32 for over 25 years ....
Here is is back in the 70's ...Photo taken in St. Paul @ the NSRA Nationals

And here it is how it looks now ... Photo taken by our very DRD57 ... @ the 2007 LA Roadsters Father's Day event in Los Angeles California.

Sort of, I found my 1930 Model A Roadster body in 1962, a channeled exHot Rod. Sold it to a guy who had it for 25 years, did NOTHING with it, and bought it back. It's on a table now getting the sub rails repaired. Gee that's 47 years, I need to pick up the pace on this build.

I did not start this thread as a contest ... :)
I have only owned my 32 3W for a little over 4 years. But I plan on owning it for the REST of my life ... :D

I known a fellow who lives within a mile from me who has owned his 1932 Ford sedan since 1956. He drove it to our local cruise night this past Saturday ...

I've had the Impala for 28-30 years. OK, Let me splain this. Bought a '58 Impala around Christmas of '79. It came with a 348 4bbl. and the seats were usable but well used. The body was beyond me at the time and I'm not sure I'd tackle it today either. So during the summer of '81 I went to Oklahoma and Texas to visit relatives. Ran an ad in OKC and found a few maybees. While in Ft. Worth ran across an ad in the Star Telegram for a "1966 Altered Wheel Base Nova Funnycar $2000, also '58 Impala $1000." Bought the Impala there and like a dummy, never even looked at the Nova. ((Insert a boot in the ass here))... Oh well, still have that car and the 348 and interior out of the first car are in it.

I've had my 1941 Chevy for 37 years. Had a small block in it till 10 years ago; then put a DeSoto hemi in it. The 52 Ford truck in my avatar was my grandfather's; I inherited it when he passed away in 1974. Putting a Chrysler 354 and pushbutton Torqueflite in it.

Well, I have had this old 1951 going on 30 years. In 1986 I did a frame off and back to rock solid original with every nut, bolt, motor (Flatty) and did minimal driving with it. We then began using it around the ranch to haul horse trailers, hay ect.In 2000 my son and I started another cosmetic and engine change. Went with a 302 SBF with AOD and down to bare metal again and new paint and interior and custom gauges. Currently my son is in Italy and now headed to Germany in the Army and then headed to Afghanistan and God willing soon as he returns he will have a few hotrods to play with. I would ask all HAMBERS to keep our service men in their prayers for a safe return home.

I've had the 48 since 1973 and it's been a rod since the summer of 73. First run for it was the 73 Street Rod Nationals In Tulsa.

I've been married to the same woman for over 40 years but when it comes to cars there is no such thing as a keeper. For me its "too many cars and too little time"

    Have 3 hot rods.

Got the '40 Ford coupe in '67, when I was 15.
Got the '41 Ford pickup in '75, right after I finished UPT.
Got the '29 Hiboy in '82, right after my favorite older daughter was born.

Two of the three running today (above the recent average, LOL); no plans to get rid of any of them.
