There's a 292 in the '59 Ford Galaxie I'm hoping to buy. This will be my first car with a y-block.

Got a rebuilt 292 in my '62 Monterey. Awaiting some upgrades as soon as I collect what I need. Got a 4bbl intake of a '57 Y to replace the 2bbl. Straight pipes, sounds awesome!!!

Saw a tree trimmer guy at the gas staion the other day filling up his wood chipper with gas, you guessed it a Yblock. Said it was on it when he bought the unit 10 years ago.

Recently rebuilt and warmed-over 312 going in a '56 Fairlane gasser project. Hope to have it done by next spring.

Ford car&truck and also Mercury 292 are all basicly the same. The only differences are the cam/intake and exhaust combo. You can build a 292 engine and put in in a any of them or vice versa. Trucks and cars also have a different engine mounting system and also the 2 seater T-birds too.

Yes 55s had 239s and 256s,the 300 inch Y blocks were the Lincoln motors in the larger trucks.
