I need to get a 6 v generator converted to 12v and I cannot find anyone that still can do this. I am located in Ohio and would be grateful for any referrals. Thanks in advance

I found this place in Oregon. I plan on using them to rebuild one of my generators. According to their website it looks like they can help you out with the conversion.

You can find them already converted on eBay for what I think are reasonable prices.

  6. Dude, there's a place on Northfield Rd. in Bedford, Ohio. They did mine. It's a father and son operation. They did a killer job. I will see if I can remember the name of the shop.

    Where is Nova Ohio?

  7. I found it....It's Certified Auto Electric 440-439-1100 or 888-597-8278. They are about 1/2 hour southeast of Cleveland. They did a real nice job on my Merc. generator and are super nice people.

  11. No problem dude. Happy to help. The owner's son is on here I think. I can't remember his stage name though.

Funny...I had to Google map the street and the "drive" down it. I zoomed in on the door to get the name and phone number.

X2 Dannys rebuilt all of my starters, alternators, and generators. Top notch work, fair price, no additude, and he's a hot rodder!

  14. If you're talking about flathead Ford, it's dead easy. I did it and works perfect. I used the bearing end plate, the armature and the bush/brushes end plate from my 6v, and the barrell with coils from a 57/58 Ford. Bolt it together and there ya go.
