I like the front of the '58, and the sides of the '57. But the '57 has a C pillar like a '58 Chevy, were they testing it out? Or do I have it wrong? And the '58 has ones like a '57 Chevy. The grill of the '54 looks like a fish mouth.

    Are they done yet? ;)

  5. sorry, i have been busy and have not had time to finish the cleanup.

  6. I have also had my fair share of BS from the Buick club. It seems like they have a Whole Lot of purest that condemn any thing but a 100 point restoration even if it means destroying a nice survivor.
    Not you Mr Earl.

Bob, WOW is all I can say about the reply on the Buick Forum. That is truly disappointing. Give it one more try, if you want. My suggestion would be to talk to a guy with the handle LanceMB. He is the resident Buick forum guru on 57 Supers and Roadmasters. Owns 3-4 of them. Great guy and will not let you down.

Bob, I think you might have misinterpreted the response from Mr. Earl. (the dude with the hat). I know the guy personally. His answer was exactly what you did..He would have got all three. He is a HUGE Buick Fan. He owns probably 10 1954 Buicks. And a great resource as well. I'm quite sure his comment was not to piss you off, but let you know what a great find you had.
My 2 cents worth..either way good luck with them.

Ted found and now owns the Buicks, I just followed the thread, thought the AACA types would like a lead on THREE bone stock cars. o_OBob

  17. ok, finally had time to clean the 58 up and get a quick look. interior is all there most of which would clean up and be usable, not perfect but ok. carpet is a mess and the dash pad is cracked. interior has "all the bling" as the outside. DSCF0005.JPG DSCF0006.JPG DSCF0007.JPG

  19. the outer body has some patches, some of which was done using fiberglass but over all not bad and the surfaces are rust pit free for the most part. someone took the time to tape it off well and prime it. i love the roof color. DSCF0002.JPG

  20. the underside of this car is "soft" i believe it would need floor patches and frame work. the trunk looked solid and someone has refurbished the fuel tank. missing pieces of trim are in the trunk. the engine has the "look" of a motor that is ready to run. the car had brand new tires all the way around [i put them on the 54] and with the fuel tank repair and the new oil filter and wire set in the car i am guessing it ran well enough to put money in it. 21. the "bling"! lots of stainless steel and chrome! i think some of the chrome will polish up but most of the chrome would have to be re-plated. i am pretty sure it is all there and the only piece of stainless trim that would have to be repaired/replaced would be over the passenger headlight. 22. to summarize. this car could be put on the road without a full resto but would require a lot of under car welding. although the body is straight and shows no crash damage it does need outer patches redone.
driver window is cracked the rest of the glass looks good. DSCF0019.JPG couldn't you see yourself behind the wheel of this beauty?

  23. ohhh, with all the glitz and glamour if we were to compare this car to the planets that revolve around the sun, it would more likely compare to saturn than URANUS.;):D DSCF0003.JPG

So have you made a decision yet? As much as I like the 57 above I think the 4 door green one is the best option and least amount of work.

  28. 4182 lbs.. the '54 is 3690 lbs.

    will do.

i want them all, but don't need any of them. i am going to put them all up for sale and keep what ever i get "stuck" with.;):)
