this is the deal i replaced all the wheel cilinders on my 50 pontiac , i notice the originals rears are 7/8 bore and the new ones are 1 1/16 just like on the front, so now i have 1 1/16 all arround. what kind of problems if any will this cause? thanks in advance

ps. ive also ran all new 1/4 hard lines , new rubber lines new booster and mc in the firewall

  2. Larger wheel cylinders will apply more force to the shoes. The force (in pounds) exerted by the wheel cylinder on the brake shoes is line pressure (pounds per square inch) times the area of the piston in the cylinder (square inches). It will take slightly more fluid volume to move the larger piston but less pedal effort.
What all this means is your brake pedal will travel further and the rear will now experience more pressure than before, meaning they may lock up before the fronts.
