That was not Kool-Aid. It was Flavor-Aid.

I really like the Kroil too. Used it for years back on the East coast where stuff gets stuck as #$@!.
It really irritates my hands though, can't go near it without gloves on.

I was recently reading somewhere that some independent tests were done and the acetone/ATF mix worked better than anything you could buy outright.

Have also heard a couple of odd ones:

A certain penetrating dye used to test for cracks is supposed to be great because it is oil based and WILL find every little imperfection. Seem to remember it being cost prohibitive.

I have a friend who tried for months (if I remember correctly) to separate a pretty rare aluminum and steel hub/drum/brake combination. After several rounds of various penetrants he washed it all off and left the whole mess submerged in WATER. Do not remember exactly how long it took but it wasn't long and they came apart easily.

Why not just take the valve out and clean the stem and guide? Then you won't have to worry about all of the debris that is causing it to stick now making it stick again once you get it running. All of the penetrating stuff will make it come loose, but whatever is causing it to stick is going to still be there causing undue wear and the possibility of it sticking again when you really don't want it to. Fix it right, fix it once.

    What's the motor, flathead Cadillac/Lasalle?

I've heard of the use of water as well, like on hinges and stuff. Then follow up with WD40 or similar. Makes sense, because thats what got in there in the first place!

Dunno if anyone has mentioned it yet, but there's a product called Aero-Kroil.

Big orange can. Smells awful. But works wonders.

Give it a shot if you can find it locally.

I always use Ballistol on stuck pistons and valves, it always helps to break up rust and grime. I don´t know if it´s availible in the US but that´s the best thing I´ve used.

Seal off the holes with rags . Then fill up port with acetylene . Take a old electric cord cut off the female end . Strip two wires bare and twist the bare ends together put the twisted ends in the port before the acetylene and rags. After filling with acetylene step out side plug in cord. Maybe not a good idea .After the dust clears and your ears stop ringing you may need to rebuild more than the head . OK bad idea I vote for Kroils
