What's this hole for? 47 Ford PU

    There's a hole in the panel between the bedside and the running board, ahead of the rear fender, on each side. Obviously factory, but what's it for? Sorry the pic is sideways.

    I believe it's there so you can knock out the cross pin for the front spring mount. My '42 didn't have then and it was a bitch without.
     
  3. Removing the Pin from the spring hanger perhaps ? The Kiwi pickups didn't have that hole so I'm kinda guessing .

    Greasing the pin sounds good. Awsome looking truck you have there!
