What's the rarest car you have ever owned??

    I have owned a lot of one-off cars. This is oldest unrestored one-off I've owned so I gotta count it as the rarest of my collection

    I know a lot of you have some very rare stuff...... lets see em :)

    This is a 1897 Goddeau built by the man that invented the staple

    I have a 2002 honda accord Special Edition!!! Beat that!!!:rolleyes:

    I had a '57 Camaro once........

    Actually though, I'm not sure......it'd be a toss up between my '68 Charger R/T, a '66 442 F-85, and a '61 Olds Dynamic 88 HT. None are very rare compared to what others have owned.......

    I ran the car on Coleman fuel

    Can you see the roller rockers and overhead cam?

    The thing that looks like two pie pns stuck together has two clutches inside one for each gear

    I didn't put this up as ''Cool'' but to get people thinking about rare objects around them and share some photos :)

    i guess not to rare, but as a survivor it is doing pretty well:

    1924 Stutz Speedway 6, short chassis, juice brake car. Originally it had hydraulics front and rear, but we only could get the hubs and drums for the rear which is how it is currently set up. The wires are also an odd ball size used one year only 33 x 4 1/2

    I dont think you'll find anybody that will have something older or rarer, Bluto...

    But here is some of my stuff.

    I used to have a Alfa Romeo F12 Van ( it wasn't rare enough, because it was a really badly made vehicle...)
    I still have a Mallock U2 Mk6
    A Jasag Mk3
    And a Morgensen Special.

    Looks like 1/4 eliptic springs mounting a suicide front axle.

    I have some Ming Dynasty bowls I eat rice out of...
    Oh, not cars... rice vehicles? ;)

    Off the top of my head, 54 Corvette, or 51 Crosley super sport, and my 50 Ford Crestliner.

    Bluto, you essentially killed your own post by posting that car... :)

    It sets the bar rather high don't you think?

    My 31 Roadster is the rarest car I've owned... But that seems pretty sad at this point. :D

'65 GTO tripower auto convertible, heavy option car (something like 28 options) including power everything, custom sport steering wheel, rallye cluster, backup lights, etc. Car was rough, non-running, missing the tripower (until I looked in the trunk of the '64 GTO sport coupe that came with it - all for $2700 Canadian dollars!) - wished I still had it ...

  16. bought a 1925 Jewett sedan once,put in in the paper and some guy from a nevada musseum bought it for 5 times what I paid for it $500 in 1973.......do I wish I had it now .no its still an ugly P.O.S.

    The thtree rarest I've owned (still have the Nomad):
    '54 DeSoto Powermaster Club coupe 3,499 produced
    '56 Nomad 7,886 produced
    '70 GTX 7,748 produced

    Put in perspective, 254,331 '57 Chevy Bel-Air 4 dr sedans and 166,426 2 dr hdtps, and even 47,562 '57 Bel-Air convertibles produced.

    I had a 1982 Lancia Zagato. Payed $1.00 for it. When it broke down I couldn't find parts anywhere. I ended up letting the city tow it from in front of my house to impound. I wish I still had it Just because it was different.

    As far as how rare. If memory serves me correct, Only 500 where made and only about 200 made it to the U.S.

    This picture isn't mine but Mine was Identical to it.

  22. does my 1968 montego mx ragtop count...they only made 962 with the bucket seat console setup..3000 total??? its the newest car I own.

    hey I had one of those old 3 wheel messersmits that run n drove in 1960 a 48 cad convert that looked like a 49 front n rear was told 1 of 500 built was rusted out n i scrapped it also 52-3 jag XK that i bought got it running n made 600 bucks on it when I sold it Been scrapping cars since the 50's and sent some good iron to japan untill middle 60's Have had a bunch of nice collectibles not rare just uncommom also

    1964 Buick Wildcat convertible. bought it in 96 for $2,800.00 with 65,000 miles, new paint, top, tires all it needed was a to have a tear in the driver seat fixed. Sold her 8 years ago now, and I still miss it, and yes I'm still kicking myself. By the way, 2 months after I sold it the guy ran a red light and got smoked by 2 cars:( . Not sure what became of the car......................

    I traded a high mileage Cadillac Seville that I bought for $300 for a running, driving 1928 American LaFrance fire engine (built on a GMC chassis) a few years ago. We had it in the local Christmas parade with about 30 kids piled in it.

    I contacted an antique fire apparatus parts dealer about an original style bell for it and he quoted me a price of $2500. I told him I didn't have that much in the whole rig.

    He ended up buying it from me - for about the price of the bell.

    An American original.....four wheel independent suspension, unit body coupe, bucket seats, full instrumentation on an "engine turned" dash, manual close ratio trans, all aluminum turbocharged air cooled engine....all from the factory, my 1962 Corvair Spyder Coupe.
